Ingredients:

  • 375 gams butter
  • 190 grams sugar
  • 500 grams flour
  • 6 eggs
  • Flour to sprinkle
  • 1 pack vanilla sugar

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 360°F.
  • Mix the butter in a bowl until it starts foaming.
  • Add the sugar and then slowly add the flour.
  • Separate 5 of the eggs into egg white and egg yolk. Then pour the egg yolk into the bowl.
  • Place the vanilla sugar into the bowl as well. Mix everything thoroughly.
  • Sprinkle some flour on a clean surface with enough space, so your dough won’t stick while rolling it out.
  • Roll out your dough evenly. It should be about as high as a third of your pinkie from the side.
  • Punch out the cookies in the shapes you want.
  • Repeat this process until you run out of dough.

Hint: The more you knead the dough the less it sticks together. So for better results don’t be shy to sprinkle some flour onto the dough every now and then.

  • Place your cookies on a baking sheet and brush over them with the remaining egg.
  • Decorate the cookies however you like and bake them for 10-15 minutes.

Tipp: Berry marmalade or sprinkles tend to be a tasty choice for decoration.
